So, Adventures of Milkman was a Thing that Happened...

In last week's post about the 1990s I mentioned the Nick at Nite network. After writing that I began to think about all the great classic TV that used to be aired. Great concepts like a talking horse, Dobbie Gillis' love life that parallels what would be in my autobiography, Dennis the Menace who was nothing like me...

Then I remembered this...

I guess Milkman was some sort of a proto-Uncle Grandpa. He didn't seem to have any actual set route for his job but almost everybody Milkman encountered knew him. The stories were formulaic with a problem that Milkman would easily solve. This leads me to believe his wife was named Mary Sue Milkman.

During some of the intros was a brief clip from The Donna Reed Show. To this day I haven't been able to figure out if that means canonically Milkman was the milkman of the Stone family. After all, around that time Nick at Nite was re-airing on sunday nights the Hi Honey, I'm Home! episodes from ABC's friday night broadcast. The premise of Hi Honey, I'm Home! is that sitcom characters exist in real life and when their shows get canceled the characters go into the Sitcom Relocation Program. Therefore, does the Stone family use their Turnerizer (IMDB spells it Turner-izer with a hyphen, not me) device to become black and white just to wave at Milkman? That risks blowing their cover so they'll never return back to syndicated reruns and I know from MeTV that's not the case.

Am I overthinking television again? Why am I posting this here on a forum owned by @joeyarnoldvn rather than on my own Fan Theories community? Oh, right. I was supposed to have taken my medication three hours ago. That explains it.

One last thing: In the above YouTube video near the end around 04:35 is a clip of a woman running to a man and Milkman talking about a prom dance being over. The way I remember that story Milkman was driving around and comes across the woman standing on a street corner. She's literally been waiting there for something like 20 years. Milkman guesses maybe she got the wrong address and drove her around until they found her date on another corner also waiting. Of course they didn't want to show that promo because IT PROVES HE HAS NO ACTUAL ROUTE OR HE WOULD HAVE SOLVED THAT LONG, LONG AGO!!!

I tried to find that Milkman promo but it seems YouTube is being paid to make sure the prom date promo is lost media. Can't say I blame them. I found this other promo not included in the clip above. Now you can play at home and deduce why this promo wasn't included in the above video.
