There is quite a bit of engineering when it comes to the model rocket hobby so a good simulation tool is a must have. OpenRocket is Java-based software open sourced under the GNU General Public License. With this software users can design a virtual model of the planned rocket complete with schematic view zoom of the virtual model. Details such as material density can be incorporated into the design and values such as flight altitude and velocity can be simulated.
