Filament Quality Matters When 3D Printing

Recently I made a post about printing a DNA model using red PLA filament. I tried printing the same model earlier using the sample spool of filament that came with my 3D printer. It wasn't as successful due to the sample's lower quality. The white filament was brittle and didn't always have the same consistency when extruded.

Below are a few photos from that attempt. The last photo was as much of the model that could be printed before problems occurred.
