Amateur astronomy can be difficult sometimes due to "light pollution" or other factors. When you don't have access to a decent telescope and the right viewing conditions the Sky Map app is the next best thing.

Just download the app, open it and move your phone around. Your phone's screen is now an augmented reality window to where the planets and stars are. Any of the 360 degrees of Earth's astronomical neighborhood can be viewed.
